FRAME PASSAGE

Sunglasses size guide

A frame marking such as 54–19–140 describes three measurements in millimetres: lens width, bridge width and temple length. Use these numbers to compare frames you already wear comfortably, then check the front and side photographs of the pair you are considering.

What the three numbers mean

Lens width
The horizontal width of one lens. It is not the overall width of the frame.
Bridge width
The marked distance between the lenses at the bridge. A matching number alone does not guarantee the same fit: bridge shape and nose-pad construction also matter.
Temple length
The length marked for the arm of the frame. Temple shape and the bend behind the ear can affect how a pair sits.

These measurements come from photographed sample temple markings. They have not been independently confirmed for every colour or production batch. Contact us to confirm the exact pair before ordering if a measurement is essential to your choice.

A practical way to compare fit

  1. Find the marking inside a frame that you already wear comfortably. Record all three numbers.
  2. Compare those numbers with the table, rather than choosing by lens width alone. Do not add the lens and bridge measurements to estimate total frame width: rims and hinges also contribute.
  3. Use front photographs to compare outline and side photographs to inspect the temples and nose-pad arrangement. Wearing photographs show proportions, but are not a measurement scale or a fit guarantee.
  4. If you need overall frame width, a particular colour measurement or more photographs, contact FRAME PASSAGE with the model and colour.

Size, style and lens specifications are separate decisions

A smaller lens marking does not automatically mean a narrower overall frame. Shape, rim thickness and construction also change the appearance. Read our sunglasses style comparison to compare the current models.

UV protection and polarization specifications are still being confirmed. Frame dimensions and mirrored appearance do not establish those lens functions. Ask us before ordering if you require a specific lens function.
